Took our Ford fF50 in for an inspection knowing that it needed the rear brakes and shocks done. After inspection service advisor also said it needed left front outer tie rod replaced and some more insignificant items. The quote they gave me was about 2700 dollars. Seemed quite high so did not let them proceed with repairs. Took the vehicle to a local competitor that charged by the hour. I also made sure that parts were of equal or better quality that had been quoted at Crestview. The parts came in at half of what was quoted by Crestview. The labor came in at 60% less than Crestview. The total bill was over 1200 dollars less. Work was done by journeyman mechanic at a reputable shop. It was a headache having to pick the truck up and take it to a different shop but was well worth it. This business will gouge unsuspecting customers. As always its buyer beware. They seemed friendly and knowledgeable and I am sure the work they do there is satisfactory. Would only recommend this shop if price is not a consideration.
Hi Scott, we had your vehicle in because your brakes were grinding and you wanted shocks replaced. Heather dropped it off when she came into Saskatoon for the day. Our inspection service includes test driving the vehicle prior to working on it and our technician noted the grinding, steering wander and bouncing as you drive. The rear brakes were worn down to 0%, brake rotors ground down way beyond safe limits. Your vehicle needed numerous repairs, not just to the brakes but also had very loose steering and suspension parts, ABS brake system issues, cooling system issues and more. Our quote was for the previously mentioned items and other maintenance items as we discussed. We take safety very seriously. We are glad you had the vehicle repaired as it was unsafe in the condition we saw it in. Don Klassen
